De Pastorij (the vicar's house)

De pastorij is a stylish former vicarage, located in the center of a small quiet village in the “Achterhoek” in the province of Gelderland in Holland. Built in 1858 for the vicar from the Dutch Reformed community, it is nowadays almost in original condition, just like the shady garden.

The house, now on the Dutch list of protected monuments, has been renovated and improved in style. For interested persons there is the original building description from the architect, Mr. Gerritsen ,from the town of Zutphen,. of course, hand-written, and in Dutch,sorry. There are also a lot of pictures from the various renovations, and information about the Reformed Church with its nice organ, built by Mr. Naber.

Breakfast is served in the dining room, or if the weather allows, in the garden, with view on the windmill. There also live two Labrador dogs in De Pastorij, they are just as easy and flexible as the two humans that live here permanently, but please advise if you plan on bringing your own pet ! Pets are not allowed in the guestrooms!
